No Man’s Land, composed, Arranged, and produced by Yakou N'guessan, lyrics by Roberta Setzu

The title of this piece, "No Man’s Land," serves as a metaphor for nomadic life. I composed this song while on tour. I always appreciate the sense of freedom felt while waiting at an airport for a flight. It is important to note that once you pass through customs at the airport, you enter what can be considered a no man's land.

Lyrics

Breath in, Don’t you see?
This is no man’s land
Just an echo of my own people
But we keep the sunrise
right here in our heart
Can’t take away the laughter the Joy we seed
Sing! The rain will come
to wash away the pain
Each tear the dawn of a new life
A chance to start again
will bloom from our hands
To weave the starry night within our skins.
